Why Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy?

Your blood carries this oxygen throughout your body. This helps fight bacteria and stimulate the release of substances called growth factors and stem cells, which promote healing. Your body's tissues need an adequate supply of oxygen to function. When tissue is injured, it requires even more oxygen to survive. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy increases the amount of oxygen your blood can carry. An increase in blood oxygen temporarily restores normal levels of blood gases and tissue function to promote healing and fight infection.

It has long been known that healing many areas of the body cannot take place without appropriate oxygen levels in the tissue.  Most illnesses and injuries occur, and often linger, at the cellular or tissue level.  In many cases, such as: circulatory problems; non-healing wounds; and strokes, adequate oxygen cannot reach the damaged area and the body's natural healing ability is unable to function properly.  Hyperbaric oxygen therapy provides this extra oxygen naturally and with minimal side effects.

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy improves the quality of life of the patient in many areas when standard medicine is not working.  Many conditions such as stroke, cerebral palsy, head injuries, and chronic fatigue have responded favorably to HBOT

To get benefit from hyperbaric oxygen therapy, you'll likely need more than one session. The number of sessions depends on your medical condition. Some conditions, such as carbon monoxide poisoning, might be treated in three visits. Others, such as non-healing wounds, may require 20 to 40 treatments.

To effectively treat other conditions, hyperbaric oxygen therapy is used as part of a comprehensive treatment plan and administered with other therapies and drugs that fit your individual needs.

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy alone can often effectively treat diseases.

CHAMBER TYPES

MONOPLACE HYPERBARIC CHAMBER SYSTEMS

  • SIGMA ELITE - The “smarter” computerized chamber has features and functionality not found in the healthcare industry today. Offered on the Sigma 34, the Sigma 36 and the Sigma 40 chambers.  There is no other hyperbaric chamber on the market that can match the features of the Sigma Elite. The Sigma Elite Chamber System can include several chambers that share a common database. All of the chambers on the system can be viewed from one location and nearby chambers can be controlled. This allows fewer operators to view and control more than one chamber at a time. The system includes patient and treatment review software that allows filtering of information of interest from all of the chambers at once.
  • SIGMA 40 - The SIGMA 40 is the largest monoplace chamber in the industry. The spacious 40.5” internal diameter allows for added comfort while promoting increased patient compliance. Features include an adjustable stretcher and certified for patients up to 700 pounds. Continuing as the leader in the industry, Perry is proud to introduce the SIGMA 40 monoplace hyperbaric chamber to its line of innovative products. This system has a 40.5” Internal Diameter chamber, the largest in the industry, which significantly reduces the incidence of noncompliance due to claustrophobia as well as allowing the treatment of the bariatric population. While the internal diameter has increased, the new technology used to build the Sigma 40 has enabled Perry to decrease the weight of the chamber by 1,650 lbs. resulting in fewer limitations due to weight restrictions.
  • SIGMA 36 - The SIGMA 36 is the second largest monoplace chamber in the industry. The 36” internal diameter allows for added comfort while promoting increased patient compliance. Features include an adjustable stretcher and certified for patients up to 500 pounds. The larger chamber sizes provide the patient with a more pleasant treatment experience. Confinement anxiety and other complications will be reduced if treatment is performed in the larger, more patient-friendly chambers.
  • SIGMA 34 - The SIGMA 34 is maneuverable around corners and hallways and fits through standard doorways.  Low initial investment and minimum facility renovation requirements make the SIGMA 34 ideal for new program start-up or increasing a program’s patient capacity. The 34 inch acrylic cylinder of the SIGMA 34 hyperbaric chamber allows patients to be inclined up to  25 degrees, thereby alleviating the feeling of confinement. This model is easy to install or relocate. Mounted on heavy duty casters, it is maneuverable around corners and hallways and fits through standard doorways. Low initial investment, and a minimum space, staffing and facility renovations requirements make the SIGMA 34 ideal for new program start-up or increasing a program’s patient capacity.

DUAL PLACE CHAMBER

The SIGMA 40-II Hyperbaric System provides hyperbaric oxygen therapy for two patients.  The maximum operating pressure is 30 psig (3 ATA).  The system is pressurized with breathing quality air.  Patients are seated in comfortable, adjustable, fully padded treatment chairs.

Patients breathe pure oxygen through a built in breathing system (BIBS), using “Duke” style hoods.

The SIGMA 40-II pressure vessel is constructed of aluminum end heads and includes a quick opening door assembly.  A seamless clear acrylic plastic cylinder is held in sealed position between the end heads by four steel tie-rods.  Safety interlocks prevent the chamber from being pressurized until the door is properly secured, and also prevents the door from being opened while the vessel is pressurized.

Patient Comfort is of utmost priority in the design of the SIGMA 40-II.  The world’s largest diameter acrylic greatly reduces containment anxiety while the reclining seats maximize comfort during treatment.

The pressure vessel is mounted on a wheeled support chassis, which also houses the main control components.  These components are tray mounted to provide easy access for maintenance.

PERRY MULTIPLACE HYPERBARIC CHAMBERS

SIGMA Multiplace systems are designed to specification for hospitals expecting high volume or significant critical care requirements. Customized patient capacities, internal diameters and a wide variety of accessories make each system unique. A free-standing operator control console with color video monitors is included.

The Perry Multiplace Systems series is available in standard 2,3,4,6,8,12 or 18 patient configurations, or custom designed to meet larger patient requirements. Our multiplace chambers permit treatment of seated, supine or wheelchair patients. Dual or multiplace compartments allow for a variety of simultaneous treatment protocols.  Our standard large multi-place system provides a minimum of 100 cubic feet for each seated patient. A floor level, rectangular entrance door to the main treatment compartment allows gurneys and wheelchair access with ease.
